Auto Room Assignments Based on Excluded Room Features

Stay is enhanced to allow users to exclude rooms with selected room features from auto room assignment. For example, users can configure rooms tagged as Smoking Rooms to be excluded from auto room assignment.

The following enhancements have been made for this feature:

• When users create reservations for groups from the Staging section (Group àReservations àStaging àCreate Reservations) and when no rooms are available to be assigned based on the excluded features selected for the group, the reservation will not be created, and the following message will be displayed: Room could not be assigned due to the exclusion preferences of this group.

• When reservations are booked from OTAs using a room type for which room assignment is mandatory, and when rooms are not available based on the excluded features selected, the reservation is created in Stay without the room assignment.

  • When users open the created reservation in Stay, the following message is displayed: Room could not be assigned due to the excluded room feature.

  • Users must manually assign a room for the reservation.

• When users perform Copy Reservation, the excluded room features selected for the reservation cannot be copied.

• When users add a new feature (All Settings àGeneral àRooms & Room Types àRoom Presets àFeature àAdd), the following message is displayed as a banner in the Add Feature pop-up screen: Once the feature has been saved, the Name, Code, and Category fields cannot be editable.

• The message, Exclude room features will be ignored from auto room assignment when the Maximize Occupancy has been selected, is displayed in the Assign Rooms pop-up screen that appears when users assign rooms from these locations:

  • Tape Chart screen (Dashboard àTape Chart àAssign Rooms)

  • Check-In tab of the Batch Operations screen (Front Desk àBatch Operations àCheck-In àAssign Rooms) when the Maximize Occupancy checkbox is enabled:

• The Confirm button in the Assign Rooms pop-up screen that appears when users assign rooms from the Tape Chart screen has been renamed to Save.
