Create Same-Day Reservations
Stay allows users to create same-day reservations both for the current property date and future dates. These reservations can also be created through ACRS and other OTAs and sent to Stay. The same-day reservations can be created using the regular rate plans configured at the property only. They cannot be created using package rate plans.
Same-day reservations can be created in properties that use federated rates.
Feature Setting
The following feature setting must be enabled to allow guests to create same day reservations:

Important Points

Users can copy and move the same-day reservations.

When moving a same-day reservation to a different property for future dates, the following message is displayed if the destination property does not support same-day reservations (Day use Rooms feature setting is disabled): Move reservation is not feasible as destination property does not support day use stays.

Same-day reservations can be moved to the destination property’s current property date even if the Day use Rooms feature setting is disabled.

Users can create shared reservations where a same-day reservation is shared with a regular reservation.

The same-day reservations can be associated with groups.

Users can modify a reservation’s length of stay to 0 nights through the Modify Stay screen and create same-day reservations.

Overbooking can be performed for same-day reservations. A room assigned to a same-day reservation can be assigned to another reservation arriving on the same day until the guest checks in.

The number of the available rooms will not decrease when a room is assigned to a same-day reservation.

Users can modify the same-day reservations from the Batch Operations à Batch Edit tab.

When users access a same-day reservation in the following statuses, a universal alert is displayed based on the type of alert configured for the property:

INH - In house

RES - Arriving

NOS - No-Show

CXL - Cancelled

DPT - Departed

Create Same-Day Reservations
When the Day use Rooms feature setting is enabled, users can create same-day reservations with the same arrival and departure dates for the current property date or future dates. These reservations can be created for all the room types associated with regular rate plans configured at the property.
Same-day reservations are indicated by a Day Use indicator displayed in the Search screen, Check-In, and Settle & Check Out tabs of the Batch Operations screen, and in the Reservation Summary section of the reservations. When users hover over the indicator, the message, This room is a day use room, is displayed.
When users check in these reservations, the Check-In Confirmation pop-up screen appears that prompts users to acknowledge that the guest is being checked into a day use room and the room charges and recurring charges or add-ons applicable for the reservation will be posted to the folio at the time of check-in.
When users click Yes, the reservation will be checked in successfully and the recurring charges or add-ons applicable for the reservation will be posted to the folio as and when they are added to the Estimated Charges section.
The Check-In Confirmation pop-up screen is also displayed when users check in the reservations from the Batch Operations à Check-In screen. Only the same-day reservations without a deposit due can be checked in successfully. When there is a deposit due for the reservation, the reservation is disabled for selection and an info icon is displayed next to the reservation’s Confirmation ID that displays the message, Deposit due is pending, when hovered over.
When same-day reservations are checked in through Stay Self Service, charges will be posted to the folio, but the Check-In Confirmation pop-up screen will not be displayed to the guest.
Same-day reservations can be checked in successfully only when there is no deposit due. When there are multiple deposit schedules, all the schedules are calculated and collected before the reservation is checked in.
Configure Check-In and Check-Out Time for Same-Day Reservations
Users must configure the default check-in and check-out time for same-day reservations in the Day Use Check-In and Day Use Check-Out fields in the Property Setup screen. By default, these fields are populated with the check-in and check-out time configured for the property. Users can modify the time if required.
The key expiration time for same-day reservations is based on the default check-out time configured. Digital keys are not supported for the same-day reservations. Only physical keys are supported.
The priority indicator for ETA and ETD will be displayed for the day use reservations with ETA and ETD configured based on the time selected in the Indicate Urgent Arrivals/Departures field.
Apply Early Check-In and Late Check-Out Fee for Day Use Reservations
When an early check-in, late check-out time, and the fee to be applied is configured by a property, the fee is applied to the day-use reservations when they are checked in prior to the Day Use Check-In time or checked out beyond the Day Use Check-Out time.
Housekeeping Service for Same-Day Reservations
When same-day reservations are checked out, a check-out service is automatically created for the assigned room. After the guest is checked-out, the status of the checked-out room is updated as Vacant-Dirty.
