Room Assignment Based on Room Usage

When the Room Usage option is selected, during date roll, all rooms at the property are analyzed to determine how frequently a room has been used for staying by guests. This frequency of usage is stored as the Rotation Counter (RC) value for the room.

During the date roll performed on each night, for rooms that are occupied by a guest, the rotation counter value is incremented by 1 and displayed next to the RC label in the top-left corner of the room number tile in the Property Configuration tab. For rooms that are left unoccupied, the RC value for that night is considered as 0. The Rotation Counter value is calculated for the rooms in an incremental manner, that is, during the date roll performed on the successive night, the previous night’s RC value is added to the current night’s RC value and so on.

Rooms are assigned to reservations based on the ascending order of RC values, that is, the room with the lowest RC value is assigned as priority to a reservation. When multiple rooms have the same RC value, the rooms are assigned based on the rack order value of the room.
