Make Payments Using Debit Cards

Stay is enhanced to allow users to make payments using Debit cards when integrated with Eigen payment gateway.

Contact Agilysys to configure the Eigen payment gateway for the property.

The payments made using debit cards in the following accounts are processed by the gateway:

• Reservations

• Groups

• House accounts

Permission

The following new permission has been added to enable users to refund payments made using a debit card.

• allowRefundUsingDevice

This permission is assigned to the System Administrator role by default.

Debit Card Payment Methods

Users can add a debit card as a payment method in the Payment Methods section of the account. When users add a new debit card payment method by selecting the New Credit Card option in the Payment Method pop-up screen, the payment method is indicated by a Debit indicator displayed in the Card Type field of the payment method.

The following fields are disabled for the debit card payment method:

• Authorized Amount

• Make this the default payment method

• Folios

• Third party payment

• Do not disclose rates to guest

The following fields are enabled for the debit card payment method:

• Card Subtype

• Reference

• Delete this payment method

When payment is made using a new debit card in the Make a Payment pop-up screen that is not added to the Payment Methods section, the payment will be processed successfully but the card details will not be added to the Payment Methods section.

When the credit or debit card payment method added is not eligible for making payments, the following message is displayed: This payment method is not eligible for future transactions.

Refunds for Debit Card Payments

When users issue a refund for the payments made using a debit card, users will be navigated to a new pop-up screen, Refund a Payment, when the Next button is clicked in the Refund pop-up screen. The Refund a Payment pop-up screen displays the following message: Debit cards are required to be physically present to process refunds.

Users with the allowRefundUsingDevice permission can issue a refund using a payment device. Once the refund is issued successfully, a record for the refund is created in the account folio.
